Product Story

Frankincense is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia, It is used in incense and perfumes.

Frankincense has been traded on the Arabian Peninsula and in North Africa for more than 5000 years. A mural depicting sacks of frankincense traded from the Land of Punt adorns the walls of the temple of ancient Egyptian Queen Hatshepsut, who died in circa 1458 BCE.

The aroma of frankincense is said to represent life and the Judaic, Christian, and Islamic faiths have often used frankincense mixed with oils to anoint newborn infants and individuals considered to be moving into a new phase in their spiritual lives.

Frankincense resin is edible and often used in various traditional medicines in Asia for digestion and healthy skin. In Ayurvedic medicine Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata), commonly referred to as "dhoop," has been used for hundreds of years for treating arthritis, healing wounds, strengthening the female hormone system, and purifying the atmosphere from undesirable germs. Review for Frankincense Certified Organic Essential Oil: 10 ml.
I work in a small office with several other co-workers, and it gets pretty stuffy! So we needed something to keep us alert and content! Frankincense oil was great. You need to buy a diffuser (try this one from Amazon, so cute! http://www.amazon.com/Gifts-Decor-Porcelain-Warmer-Candle/dp/B008YRQ898/) and you will also need tea light candles (unless you get a different diffuser. It gives off a fresh, woodsy smell! For our tiny office, we only needed like 5 drops in the diffuser. It was my first time using essential oils, so I put too much in at first (like 10+ drops). You will need to full up the diffuser with water, then drop in a couple of drops of essential oil and light the candle! That's it! I would recommend it for a woodsy smell.

Apteka Frankincense review
I always would purchase my essential oils from Mother's market, or Whole Foods, and they were great, but not so great. This Frankincense from Apteka has a very deep, rich scent, and when applied topically, lasts for much longer than other brands I have tried. Very uplifting and centering scent too! I love it.
