I found my miracle in a bottle!!! It’s true! I’m talking about Rosehip Oil and boy did Mother Nature know what she was doing when she created those little rosehip seeds!
The oil is extracted from the seeds of a wild rose bush using a cold-press method in order to preserve the precious nutrients within. Nutrients like vita A (trans-retinoic acid), vita C, beta carotene, lycopene, omega 3, 6 and 9 oils (all within nature’s perfect ratio!) combine together to absorb quickly into the skin creating radiance and a healthy glow! It’s currently being touted as one of the top anti-aging ingredients available today!
I’ve been using Rosehip Oil for about six months and can really tell a difference in the suppleness and clarity of my skin! Being in my 40s, and in front of a camera, elasticity is a major concern for me - but being holisitic, ingredients are even more important! So when I find something created in nature I learn every fact I can about it and then go wild! Yep, I pretty much bathe in this stuff as part of my morning routine!
Here’s what I’ve learned...
According to studies, Rosehip Oil is considered an anti-aging ingredient because of its high Vitamin C content and its ability to boost skin regeneration and elasticity. It is also high in GLA, an essential fatty acid which helps to reduce fine lines and combat the drying effects of the sun, environment and climate. Other fatty acids found in high levels include Linoleic Acid (47.4%) and Linolenic Acid (33%), which help healing and regeneration, while preventing the formation of thick keloid scar tissue and are helpful in healing burns, scars and stretch marks.
In December 1988, two researchers published a paper titled Contributions to Identification and Application of Active Components Contained in Rosa Aff. Rubiginosa. In a 2-year study, Rosehip Oil was applied to 180 patients with surgical, traumatic and burn scars, as well as to a group suffering from premature aging of the skin. The results were remarkable. Continuous application of Rosehip Oil positively affected scars and wrinkles, halted advancement of premature aging, and restored lost skin, natural color and tone.
Even more interesting, Trans-retinoic acid is a derivative of vita A and is marketed as Tretinoin. The therapeutic effects of Tretinoin in the treatment of a variety of dermatology disorders have been well-researched and recognized. You may have even tried it, it’s very popular with dermatologists! It can produce quick and positive changes in the skin, but because it is a very strong substance, it must be applied under medical supervision. However, Rosehip Oil produces the benefits of Tretinoin, but without secondary side effects, because the trans-retinoic acid is contained in a natural state as part of a complex of unsaturated fatty acids. The action is controlled and slowly released, eliminating the risk of damage to the skin.
In the many studies I’ve read, results were seen (after applying Rosehip Oil twice daily) anywhere between 3 weeks and 4 months. Nature at its finest...AGAIN!
